Humbled, yet again

Humbling doesn't quite describe the immediate feeling experienced after receiving our most recent gift. Let me explain...

Steven, contacted via email by one of our good friends was asked if we could send our home address his way. He and his wife wanted to send us some money. So, naturally we didn't hesitate meeting this request! A few days later we got an envelope in the mail with their return address in the corner. I opened it immediately, kind of anticipating what might be inside. Boy was I wrong! My heart started pounding (much like it is as I type this). The check was written for ten thousand dollars, yes, that's $10,000!!!

We give praise to God for his mercy and grace that He so desires to lavish on us. Sometimes it's difficult receiving His good and perfect gifts, because we know we are so undeserving. But then Jesus reminds us that He delights in us and wants to shower us with His undeserved love and salvation. Thank you, Lord, for quietening us with your love, and rejoicing over us with singing! (Zephaniah 3:17)
